Holiday accommodation owners, go the extra mile and putting all the facilities
We run Whitby cottages as a hard it letting business and we found that although it may be difficult to find the money to spend on them to make them have to facilities which will equal the facilities you have a home, its worth the extra cost and effort.
Weve researched a lot of holiday cottages in our area because ultimately these are competition, and its amazing how many of the owners will skimp on the facilities because theyre thinking well its only holiday accommodation free short period of time. They seem to have the mind-set that people will put up with less because theyre on holiday, with excuses like well theyll spend most of their time outside exploring.
Well to a small degree that is true when youre on holiday you do tend to go out to visit the local tourist attractions, but weve asked with questionnaires how our guests feel about not having some of the creature comforts they would have at home like satellite television on a widescreen TV. Its absolutely amazing how many holiday cottages still put in a small portable TV as though thats adequate, that usually works as an aerial that only receives the main channels.
Well the results of our questionnaires mostly reflect the fact that the guests really do appreciate having better facilities and not having to do without.
We provide, wireless broadband for Internet access because its amazing how many people want to take their laptop to keep in touch and to watch TV and films on it. We also make sure they have satellite TV with a recorder so they can capture any programs they wish noosa accommodation specials to watch later in the evening. It really makes difference to their holiday there experiencing the enjoyment of seeing a new place and then coming back to the creature comforts they used to in the evening.
One of my absolute hate is when you go noosa holiday accommodation to holiday accommodation and find that its not warm enough, we stayed in holiday flats over recent years and found that we couldnt put the central heating on and we had a spotty little picture on a small TV, its really not good enough and it certainly make sure feel you would never go back to that particular holiday let.
So my biggest tip would be that if youre really serious about making a success of your holiday accommodation, go the extra mile to make sure that all the facilities at their and it becomes a home from home.
And one last thing, you will never know how your guests feel unless you ask them with a questionnaire, mostly holiday accommodation owners fear getting negative feedback, but if you dont get the feedback you can never change for the better. In fact the negative feedback is more of a positive feedback it makes you do something to improve your holiday accommodation.
